But when he who had set me apart before I was born, and who called me by his grace, was pleased to reveal his Son to me, in order that I might preach him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately consult with anyone; nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me, but I went away into Arabia, and returned again to Damascus.
For I would have you know, brothers, that the gospel that was preached by me is not man’s gospel. For I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it, but I received it through a revelation of Jesus Christ.
I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now. And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.
The fact that Paul and the other Apostles share one gospel message means that we do not follow the teaching of any one human other than Jesus himself. How does this give us confidence and cause for unity as believers in Jesus Christ?
The Apostle Paul was called into ministry by Jesus himself. And yet, he sought visible unity with the other disciples. How can we work together at CrossPointe Coast and with other believers in Brevard County for visible unity around the one message of the gospel?
Paul, who was once a great persecutor of Christians, became a great proclaimer of the gospel. We, too, were lost and without before we were saved when someone proclaimed the gospel to us. How might we be encouraged to proclaim the gospel without fear and in expectation that God will save the lost.
